Congratulations to Superintendent Brett Johnson on being selected to serve on the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Advisory Council.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve on the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Advisory Council,” said Johnson. “I am truly honored and excited to have been selected for this appointment, and I greatly appreciate Dr. Ryan Quarles’ confidence in me and the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College.”

Johnson said he looks forward to “working alongside the other council members and college leadership to support our students, strengthen partnerships throughout the region, and help advance the mission of the college. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my experience and perspective in support of the communities we serve, and I look forward to learning from the other members as we begin this work together.”
SKCTC Chancellor Dr. Lee Harrison expressed her appreciation to Johnson for his willingness to serve in the position, which is a three-year term.
Harrison pointed out that the college advisory council plays an important role in helping ensure Southeast remains connected and responsive to the needs of our region.
“As a council member, your experience, perspective and knowledge of our community will provide valuable insight as we consider opportunities to strengthen student success, workforce readiness, partnerships and the overall impact of our college,” she said.
“One of the greatest strengths of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College — and of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System — is our close connection to the communities we serve,” said Harrison. “Our relationships with local employers, business and industry leaders, education partners and community organizations help us understand the needs of our region and prepare students for the opportunities available right here at home. Your voice will be an important part of maintaining and strengthening those connections.”
Harrison added that council members also serve as important ambassadors for the college, helping share the story of students, programs and impact throughout the community.

The advisory council is made up of student, staff and faculty representatives, and community, business and industry leaders from throughout the college's service region.
