Manvi Chaudhari has been recognized for her insightful essay, earning her the first-place Patriots Pen youth scholarship from Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7387 in Hazard. The prestigious essay contest encourages young students to delve into America’s history and reflect on their place within contemporary American society. Participants in the competition were tasked with drafting a 300- to 400-word essay centered around a patriotic theme. Chaudhari’s submission stood out, demonstrating a strong understanding of the theme and a compelling articulation of her views. The $300 award was presented to Chaudhari by VFW Member Janey Feher. The Patriots Pen scholarship program aims to foster a sense of patriotism and civic responsibility among young Americans, providing them with an opportunity to express their perspectives on important national topics.
