4th grade wrapped up their poetry unit by having a Poetry Cafe Day! Students participated in a poetry recital and enjoyed coffee shop themed snacks and drinks. They demonstrated how to be a good public speaker and an active listener!

During today’s Amplify lesson, kindergarteners listened to a story about deciduous and evergreen trees. They then went on a nature walk to look at and classify the trees around Green Hills. They even picked out leaves to use in their leaf-people artwork.

🦅 Falcon Buddies Mentoring Program 💚 Our 7th-grade Falcon Buddies had a wonderful opportunity to mentor our kindergarten students! Through spending time together, our older students are building leadership, responsibility, and communication skills while serving as positive role models for our youngest Falcons. Our kindergarten students love learning, connecting, and building friendships with their big buddies. Our 4th graders put their STEM skills to work as they explored the world of electricity through a hands-on circuit-building activity! Students worked to build circuits, test their ideas, solve problems, and discover what it takes to make a complete circuit.
Through active learning and experimentation, students were able to bring science concepts to life while practicing critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.

The Green Hills Elementary Student Council is excited to host a Snack Food Drive to support The Laurels! We are asking our GHES families and community to help our students make a difference by donating individually packaged snacks such as chips, crackers, cookies, granola bars, fruit snacks, snack cakes, and pretzels.
Every donation—big or small—helps our students experience the importance of kindness, service, and giving back to our community. 💚
Donations may be sent to school with students and given to their classroom teacher or Student Council representative.
